Fir Bluff Tepee Camp is a private riverside tepee & canoe camp& a destination that offers interest and beauty that is free of that packaged, commercial feeling---not geared for the masses. We are located at what was a common wintering site for bands of the Nez Perce Tribe. Clarks' maps indicate this is where Lewis & Clark crossed the river on their trip east in 1806 and very near their campsites of May 7th, 1806 and October 7th, 1805.When you arrive at our private riverside camp you will have the opportunity to experience, through hands-on activities, many of the skills that sustained not only the Expedition, but many cultures past and present for thousands of years. Your experience will be a fun and fact-filled time. As you learn the culture & skills that these fascinating people possessed. We focus on developing an awareness and appreciation for the natural world. Each camp session contains a variety of activities designed to stimulate creative exploration and learning. It has often been said of the Lewis & Clark Expedition that their chances for success would have been slim to none were it not for the help of the native peoples, who had an intimate understanding of the land and its natural resources. |
