I spent a lot of time in this park over the summer. It has a good balance of trees and open areas for sunlight. The layout allows for many beach access points (all are one-third to one-half of a mile walks to the beach). The tent loops are particularly nice although the showers in the tent area are barely hot enough even when usage is light. During busy season expect a cold shower or walk over to the RV loops for a warmer experience. The park also has a network of trails that are great for hikes or even challenging trail runs. It is possible to walk from this park to Newport.
