For such a nice place to visit Hood River has relatively few campgrounds. Tucker park is great for large groups with a big grassy area for sports and games. It is right on the West fork of the Hood River and has semi-improved camping sites with clean restrooms. Also a nice day use area with a covered shelter. The only negative is the fact that it is about 15-20 minutes from the Columbia River Gorge and there are no hiking trails right out of the campground.
