North Pines Campground (Yosemite National Park)

Kind of hidden in the Yosemite Valley

All three of the Pines campgrounds are in the same area of the Yosemite Valley floor, but North Pines is across the river from the other two. The road is closed to private vehicles beyond this point, so many people don't realize this campground is here. It is set between the Merced River and Tenaya Creek with many campsites in view of the water. The sites on the water's edge are the most popular and need to be reserved far in advance. Curry Village, which has a general store, sporting equipment store, bike rentals, hot food, and showers, is only a short walk from here. The stables are at the entry to the campground and can lead to some smells on warm summer days.
