Have been to many other area grounds. This is by far the most quiet and one of the busiest. On a sold out weekend it was peaceful with lots of people everywhere. Had a great time, would recommend to families and folks who loke to go outdoors to relax.

We spent a weekend here in early March, 2011. There was still a couple of feet of snow on the ground making it a popular spot for snow shoing and cross country skiing with day users. Only 10 sites were open for winter use. Heated bathrooms, hot water, and free showers are really nice to have when winter camping. Ice skating is no longer allowed on the pond. Overall a nice spot. The only negative is it is only one half mile from Highway 395 so you do get the road noise.

Chisos Basin CG is the highest in the park and may be pleasant even in the summer when the other CGs are too hot. The NPS has recently improved the roads and parking areas making this very scenic campground even nicer. Many of the parks best hiking trails start here.

If you want or need full hook-ups, this is your only choice in Big Bend NP. It is near the store where you can grab a shower, gas up or grab a six-pack. Winter would be the best time to visit unless you want to run your air-con 24 hrs a day.

Exit 62 on Route 10 (Gage Exit). All sites are 30 amps. There were no signs on route 10 telling you it exists.

IT IS ONLY $12 a night! You stop in the Dairy Queen parking lot and pay at the jewelry counter. It is a short drive down a WIDE and GOOD CONDITION dirt road to the actual park.

All sites are pull thru (actually they are in a circle and super easy to pull through).

No TV, no WI-FI, just water, electric and sewer.

This is the least expensive pleasant surprise I have ever found in an RV spot.

There is a KOA nearby but I cannot imagine why anyone would pass up this park for an overnight stop.

This campground is litterally right in the middle of it all at Glacier National park. The campground is huge and finding a campsite here is relatively easy, espedially if you come mid-week. The site are a little close together, but not overcrowded. Hike to the many glacier area right out of camp and wildlife are can been seen from your picnic table. Sheep, goats, bears, and moose.
The lodge 9which is only a short 1/2 mile walk away) offers interpretive seminars with the rangers and dining too. Really great park campground!

This campground is one of the few that I have found that actually lets you flyfish right out the back of your camp site. This campground may be less crowded at night, but it has a short, popular trail that starts in the campground. That and restrooms convenient to daytrippers brings in crowds during the day. No problem if you will be out exploring during yourself. But everytime we came back, someone was using our campsite for a parking space while they were hiking. It is a nice spot, but we'll go two miles up the road to Belle Campground next time.

This campground is primarily filled with permanent residents. The hookups are on a single post for 2 sites so hookups can be difficult. All of the permanent residents have placed themselves in every other site with the convenient hook ups on their side making it difficult for newcomers to hookup after having to back into a site between them. The bath house is unisex with one toilet and one shower and that is in poor condition and not very enticing to use. The single washer and dryer are located under an open air roof. All sites are grass with no pads and are unlevel. There are some sites that have only water and electric that make good overnighters, again one post for every 2 sites. We stayed here in a 40' class A and will not be back here again. We did not find it a very pleasant place to stay.

The camp store is clean and friendly they even have a rec. hall with games and where you can get bags of ice for a good price and what counts for alot is the owners are very nice and helpful stay here and have a wonderful stay.

We are a family of RVers who try to visit a new campground each and every time that we go out. The one exception would be with Knoebels. We go to Knoebels at least once a year. It is AMAZING!!!!!! Camping in a beautiful setting with activity bustling all around you PLUS a phenomenal amusement park attached to the campground. You can just walk in and out throughout the day and night. Get tired? Go back to your campsite and rest up to go back again if you want. NEVER an admission fee to the amusement park, just pay as you go or purchase an all inclusive wrist band if you choose. This place works great with our family because my husband does not ride the rides so this way we are not paying admission for him. Beautiful setting and NICE people. This was the first place that we went camping and it sold us on the camping lifestyle. Highly recommended. Our all-time favorite campground!!!!

I would not recommend this resort.
We met many disgruntled lot owners/renters who described some of the shenagians the developer has pulled. The "homeowners association" board of directors are either employees of the developer, or hand picked by the developer to vote his way. As a result lot owners have no say in how the park is run, how money will be spent, or even what their monthly condo fee will be. There are countless other developer issues, which has caused a group of lot owners to hire a lawyer to fight the developer!
Security was non existent (20 break ins during a ten day period June 2009) and we found that dog owners were out of control. People routinely brought their dogs out of their RV and rushed them to some non-suspecting neighbours site so they could 'do their thing'. On more than one occasion we found dog owners with no intention of cleaning up after their pet. Dogs are left outside unattended for hour at a time. Park management unable or unwilling to resolve. Dog owners then resort to self help when Management reports neighbours have complained about dog issues.

I simply found that no one seemed to care or mind these issues.

After 6 years of camping at this park and loving the fishing, crabbing and shelling, the managers decided to do park events (which by the way were planned and paid for by the guests). It backfired and caused tension and a hostile campground. We have to move on.The sites are also small and have become very unkept.Rules are not enforced and there is the constant threat of the washer and dryers being removed.( The owners claim that they are not making enough money)The nearest place to shop,do laundry etc.is 45 min.to 1 hour away.We loved it there because my husband is a avid fisherman
But the moral at the park has declined. On to new places and fishing holes.

This campsite is OK if you cannot get one in the valley. It is a bummer to spend all day in the valley then have to drive 30-45 minutes back to your campsite. It was a little dusty and warmer than the vally. Closer to Hetch-Hetchy and other parts of Yosemite park. There is actually more to see and do other than the valley.
