Ive camped here since i was a little girl, i love this park. The park is neatly kept. They have gorgeous creeks running through the campgrounds that you can hear, that lull you to sleep. Fishing is good depending on the time of year. I have stayed at the Lost Mine Campground several times over the years. The place is GORGEOUS! A stream runs through the property and creates the nicest background. All of the sites are fantastic but there are a few that are really spectacular with your own private water fall. The owner, Ann couldn't be nicer. Even though I only go every few years she always remembers me. I love it when she stops by in the morning for coffee. She tells fantastic stories and makes me laugh hysterically. I can't wait for my next visit. Ann is not a warm-fuzzy type person but it's not hard to see that she's got a huge heart. Lost Mine is one of my favorite places in the world.

I wanted to write a review of the camping cabins to help make this a more enjoyable stay for future visitors. We stayed at the cabins in May 2011. Take DEET or other tick/insect repellant and use it BEFORE you get out of your car. We had many tiny ticks. The cabins are very rustic and were built in the 1930's. Although there are beds with mattresses in the cabins you should take a foam pad or single bed size air matress. The matresess are VERY hard and uncomfortable unless you are used to sleeping on the floor. The beds are attached to the walls and right against the windows (large screened/slatted shutters) so be prepared for bugs and dampness. There is one outlet and a single overhead light so bring an extension cord and multi-outlet if you need to run fans or charge cell phones, etc. Sleeping in the cabin was alot like sleeping in a shed with windows which is OK if you are prepared for that. The restroom near our cabin was very old and unisex and frankly - nasty. We walked the extra distance to the restrooms near the kitchen/dining building. That restroom also has nice showers and are separate for Men and Women. The kitchen building, dining areas and group meeting buildings seemed adequate for group meals and activities.

We have had many great camping experences at Patricia Lake. We have been going there for many years. It is very clean & well run. We like the rules. It keeps the campground running smoothly and everyone safe. The showers & bathrooms are very clean. The sites are cleaned inbetween each customer. They are very pet friendly, they have a doggy beach & a dog run.

The sites are large & well wooded. One of the best things is that it is very close to downtown Minocqua. The owners & staff are very helpful & friendly. You really need to check this place out.
A lady was electrocuted in the shower on May 13th. We were scared to take a shower after that.

Some of the sites are all mud. They placed us on one and all of our shoes were ruined. We woke up with our camper completely surrounded by mud and water. We told the front desk we couldn't take anymore we had to leave and they told the owner. I called him later to see if we could get our money back since we only lasted 12 hours. He said no refunds no matter what and he's sorry we left because they had a great day while we were gone. He is a horrible manager and this campground is bad.

This site is pretty well accurate when it comes to describing Walgren lake. However they are missing a few species of game fish that do exist within the lake. These species include black crappie which is more commonly seen than the white crappie. The channel catfish which shows a higher population than the black bullhead. For those of us who enjoy a good fight on the end of our line whether occationally or majority of the time also existing in the lake are northern pike which have been caught anywere in size from 9 inches to 4 feet being the largest i have seen. Not so common for Walgren there are Muskellung (muski) in the lake. Having caught a few already in 2011. Not only at the end of summer are the plant life a hassel while fishing and you can rest assured that you will snag the occational broken tree limbs that fall into the lake, but the trip becomes more than worth it seeing as to how the branches and mass of plant life give the Northerns and Large Mouth a prime habitat to live in. there is a bridge at this lake on the west end which is a good area to find black bullheads and crappie, be forewarned you may catch the occational turtle. and the trees around the bridge give you a high chance of losing your line. If you read this and have any questions email me at jtrevor95@yahoo.com Id be more than happy to answer any questions you might have.

If you enjoy camping in a residential campground this is the place for you. Don't belive the video. Whoever filmed the video has better skills in photography then running a campground. The entire campground is very small, the sites are the smallest I've seen. The 2 mile trail to Rehoboth Beach is really and 8 mile walk if you read the signs at the park. They have very nice and large boat with doors, handle bars, and the like to intice the kids. However, noone is allowed on it. The residential sites are unkept and a little trashy. Price wise, we have never paid as much for a site as we did at this campground.

The folks that run this place were so helpful. We really needed a place to stay for a few nights and even though they weren't officially open they are making big changes, they let us stay for a great rate. It was cold and miserable weather but Rainbow Lake RV staff was out braving the cold as well trying to make progress on their improvement projects. We travel through this area often and will always stay there when we are pulling our camp trailer. GO GREENBAY!!!

stayed here 4/17 and 18 2011.... first off i dont quite understand the 115 sites?? the rvs all park in the parking lot to camp. these are non electric non water parking spots. there are about 20 camp sites with table and fire rings. these are walk in only. most are a semi long walk if u are bringing in alot of camping equipment. some campers with boats just pack the boat and drive to camp. but there is only 6 site sthat u can access from the water due to vegitation. bathrooms and showers are close. $100 for 5 minute shower. we fished for 2 days and caught 1 catfish on mackeral, 1 carp on steak, 1 bluegill on worm, and an 18 inch turtle on steak!!that was the highlight. we fished the enire 48 hours leaving poles out at nite. so if u go to fish, go somewhere else. beware of raccoons! 1st nite they took entire bag of bread, hot dog buns, marshmellow, donutts, chips.... etc.... and the wild donkeys are not afraid! they followed me around. guess they wanted food. and boy are they loud at night!!!!! kept us up at 2am... if u have a boat then maybe its more enjoyable. i guess u can get to the channel in one. as far as the lake itself its a 5mph no wake zone. will not go here agian though...

stayed at picacho april 14 thru 17 2011. Most of the campsites are very private. first site we chose 6 because it was hidden behind trees and was very large and shaded. probably the largest site. BUT after the first 15 minutes we realized under the trees is bad due to mosquitos! we each had about 20 bites in 15 minutes! we sprayed down with repellanr and set up camp. we decided the next morning to move! we were covered in bites. so with the advice of the ranger lady we moved to 52. next to the cemetary. much better! just watch out for rattlesnakes there. had a record size come thru our site. its a good campground if u have a boat or canoe. we didnt. we went to fish from shore but u are limited to the boat dock for fishing. and if there is more than one other group fishing, then u are outta luck. for us it was not worth the hour long dirt road drive. very bumpy unless u drive over 40. we drove in doing 20 and it sucked! drove out doing 40 and wasnt as bad. plan on bringing everything u will need. the trip to town is long
pros: private and quiet...ranger on site ( who drives thru frequently)
cons: mosquitos, cold showers, long drive in, no beach area, long drive to town
It seemed like we were never going to get there. The access road goes down the hill to the lake shore. But when you do get there the views from the lakefront spots are amazing and the boat launch is nice. I wasn't there to fish, but I imagine that this would be a great spot to go out from. The amenities were average with fire rings and bathrooms. I think the other state parks on the lake are probably a little nicer, but also probably busier. I would stop here again when passing through.

We stay here at least 3 times a summer. Our son loves to camp here. Facilities are clean, and well kept. Hot showers and flushable toilets. Town of Davis is about 3 miles away if that. There is a grocery store and a dollar store for any forgotten items. Blackwater Falls is close by and you can hear them at night time from the campground.Nice and relaxing. Lots of hiking trails, overlooks of the Blackwater canyon. You will see lots of wildlife. Turkey, Whitetail deer and even Black Bear. This campground is huge. Unfortunately there is not enough restrooms to service the whole camping area appropriately. We camped at the lower campground section and needless to say if you dont have a bathroom in your camper or are camping in a tent, you will have a nice walk to the restrooms if you camp too far away. I dont know why they didnt have restrooms on that end. There is no privacy between campsites either. Makes things kind of akward. BUT this campground was very beautiful, expecially the section with all of the pine trees. They have a very nice recreational area with a pool and different types of activities.I will stay here again sometime but I will be sure to camp closer to the restrooms.

This campground is way deep in the woods. I had a very nice time camping here. The camping spots on the lower end were very secluded from your neighbors and it wasnt overly full of campers either. The downfall of this campground is that there are no showers. They have flushable toilets though. If they had showers, this place would have gotten 5 stars. Campground staff is very friendly, they come around occasionally on sooped up golf carts to clean camping sights and offer any assistance. Also, this campground is VERY, VERY, clean. They use a rake to clean up campsites after you leave so theres no junk like pop lids or bread ties laying around. I thought that was pretty nice. Try it out.

Collier is pretty nice with all paved camping spots including the tent sites. Very clean and well shaded for hot days. Two draw backs are the close proximity of the sites (the neighbors can hear you breath) and the the fact that the campground is not right on the beautifull Williamson River. In fact you have to go up the road to the day use area or over to a nearby Forest Service campground to access the river.

The Madison is not only renowned for its fishing, but for its elk viewing. We were able to sit back and enjoy a beverage while taking up-close and personal photos of some huge bull elk and their cows not 50 yards away. I only rate this campground 4/5 stars because it is so busy the whole season and hard to get a spot. For such a nice place to visit Hood River has relatively few campgrounds. Tucker park is great for large groups with a big grassy area for sports and games. It is right on the West fork of the Hood River and has semi-improved camping sites with clean restrooms. Also a nice day use area with a covered shelter. The only negative is the fact that it is about 15-20 minutes from the Columbia River Gorge and there are no hiking trails right out of the campground.

We arrived Sunday on an early April afternoon to find a "no sites available" sign. Since it was impossible to turn our 38 ft rig around we went on to the camp ground. There were only a few folks in the campground and they were in the process of leaving. Since the "office" wasn't manned we filled in a self serve envelope and inserted a check for $17 (electricity w/ Senior discount). By the time we'd set up we had two more folks pull in. The next morning we were alone before 9 AM. A bit later a park employee came around and placed notes on all the sites reserving them for Friday and Saturday nite!
Campground 2 provides easy access with several very nice paved pull throughs. The rest are gravel. All the sites have fire rings, a table, and electricity. Water is provided at a couple of places but none at sites. There are no sewer hook up sites. Outer sites have little shelters over the table and are more private. A couple had very abrupt entry grades. No TV reception and limited Verizon cell reception.

Campground 1 has tight roads and is better suited for small trailers, class Bs, popups, or tents. The tent pads are excellent. Some beautiful views!

Only a few, small toilets. New 'bath house' wasn't opened for season yet. The dump station (dual lanes) was open and very nicely set up.
The trails are excellent, well marked and hard surfaced in some places. Note that most have some rather steep sections. The lake is lovely.

Beautiful, well maintained campground. Make your reservations early for weekend camping!
