Camp staff are friendly, but have a lot of rules posted throughout the campground. It was mostly empty for the Wed and Thur we were there. There is a wolf preserve located adjacent to the campground, but the tours that visit twice a day must come through the camping area. I could see how this could get very annoying if you were staying for a while. I was astonished to have to pay for my shower. I would much rather pay a buck more per day for the site than have to carry quarters to the shower. It was even more appalling as I was charged for the site according to the number of people in my party. What is the additional fee for if I have to pay for showers separately. There is a nice pond on site. It has a welcoming beach. No fishing is allowed. The preserve is worth a visit, but for long term stays I would look elsewhere.

The "falls" were washed away in a flood. There is a detour to gain access as the bridge was washed away also. A "full" hookup here is 27 bucks a night with no sewer and the hook up water is terrible. My site had cigarette butts, paper etc in it and cans in the fire pit. Highway 6 is close and busy, with construction going on and a constant stream of traffic.

I stayed here to visit my brother who lives nearby. I paid for three nights. The first night when I got set up, around 9:45 I saw someone with a bright hat light walk into my site. I shined my flashlight and was told to "douse that!" This person who didn't identify himself had a clipboard in hand and wanted to know if the "extra" car was staying after 10 pm because I would need to pay him if so. I was not particularly cordial and he departed. My neighbors who were noisy after 10 were not contacted as they continued to be noisy.

The forest here is wonderful. The sites were ok, nothing special. The attitude of the park staff was a minus 10. The fees are over the top. I would never stay here again.

The host at this campground, Jerry, was looking for a fight from the moment we starting setting up the tent. Coming from California I'm not used to aggressive campsite hosts. This guy came over to the most peaceful group ever, and 100% of us are 'geeky' people. He threatened us and told us there couldn't be any big parties? We weren't planning anything of the sort, but this guy was like extra especially paranoid that anyone under the age of 40 is out to trash a campground.

He also told us that the Sheriff walked around the campground all night to be prepared? That the Sheriff checks underage drinking? Umm, why is he telling us this? We are just people going camping and all 27-35 years old. No underage people or criminals?

Most bizarre camping experience ever. Highly recommend going backcountry camping or a different campground.

In August of 2008, my family & I spent 5 days at Collins Lake we had a wonderful time. There is something for everyone there, bring your bikes, some wonderful paths to ride. On 2 seperate occasions we rented a double decker boat with water slide, this is a must if you have kids, they will talk about this forever. The price is reasonable if you rent during the week. They have a seperate area roped off for swimming & in this same area, they have a special area roped off for toddlers. The fishing was good for others, but we had no luck. Our camp site was partially shaded. We were about 250 feet from the beach. The store has basic essentials, no fruits or vegetables so bring your own, my favorite part of the store is the ice cream they serve & the amount for a cheap price. If you plan to camp at Collins Lake & want to camp close to the beach, make sure you go to Collins Lake internet site & look at the map of camping sites, I also recommend you make reservations 3-4 months ahead of time during the peek season. We do plan on going back next year & stay for a week. The people that work there are very polite. Have a great time.

We stayed in the upper loop of this campground where there is no electric sites. The sites themselves are very spacious and in most of them you can not see your neighbors. The pit toilets were kept pretty clean and while this is bear country we were never bothered by them (we practice very anti-bear camping). There is an amazingly cute and fun swimming area in the campground and the surrounding area is gorgeous. Plenty of hiking and sightseeing to be had as well. My only regret is that I wish we had a few more days to spend there.

We stayed here during the Sturgis Rally Week. The check in process went fairly smoothly with good help and processes in place. We were escorted to our site, so there was no room for error. The setting is beautiful, the campground is clean and the restrooms are quite nice.

When choosing where we were to stay the availabilty of WiFi was quite high up on my list. There were many issues with the service during our stay. I understand that the service provider was at fault, however it really hindered our activities and left an annoying feeling about the stay for me. The site was small, with only an area level for our camper, motorcycles and a picnic table.

On the plus side the management was good about enforcing quite time rules. When an arguement broke out in the camper behind us the management responded quickly. This is not a party campground, which for us was an attracting feature.

I would consider staying here again - but only if I had my own aircard.

I have driven by this campground many times and wondered, who would camp there?' Well, apparently me, since the positive reviews never mentioned 131 running alongside it. That is the negative...it isn't what you think of for backwoods camping. However, they were right, the bathrooms are spotless! The small beach and raft in lake were fun for the kids, the hayrides and trainrides were loved by the kids. They loved the gameroom and pingpong. They had a dj on a Saturday night that played a great mix for young to old. People were friendly and someone helped with my tent. The people worked there were super nice too. Overall it was great, just the sounds of the freeway...not so much. It was nice to have a grocery store within two miles.

DO NOT EVER Stay Here!! The owner of this park is a Hot Headed Abussive Tyrant with a Major Attitude Problem and Possible Mental Issues! We had a couple of our friends stop over to visit us at the campsite for a couple hours. We were very quietly sitting by the campfire socializing, No one was roudy or loud what-so-ever. When our friends had arrived they didn't see his sign saying they needed to register at the office and pay his $5.00 parking fee for thier two vehicles. He came marching over to our site and demanded they get up "Immediately and get them registered and off my grass or I am going to kick you all out of here". They immediately complied with his wishes and moved there vehicles. A little while later another friend showed up and parked at our site and accidentally locked her keys in her van. She was trying to call AAA when he came stomping back over to our site and starting Screaming Profanities at all of us and Threatening us if we didn't ALL Leave the Campground and His Property at once. He never even gave us the chance to explain the keys were locked in the van and we were doing our best to get it moved. Our wives were shocked and crying and he couldn't care less. His Tyrade went so far as to call the police on us after we had already called the police on him feeling we were going to be attacked. We were not even aurguing with him. We did not even so much as raise our voices to him and he continued to spew off for over an hour while we packed everything up in the Pouring Rain that came shortly after he demanded we leave. There were several Permenant Campers that saw his whole tyrade and came to us later and said he has done the same to others as well as them and they would never be coming back once thier contract is up. He has even been seen shooting customers loose dogs in the park with a Paintball Gun in broad daylight! We are so glad our children were not present to witness this whole thing as they would have all been traumatized by his outrageous behaviour. There are a lot of beautiful campgrounds in the northwoods. Do Not Stay Here!!

We have gone twice, the first time the site is not too pretty but right on the water where your boat is on a pulley system, very convienant. The campground itself is not very pretty, some year rounders take great pride in their space and then you see Freddy Krugers abandoned trailer right next to them, I feel sorry for those who do take pride in their site and then have to put up with that. The amusement center , never saw it open, is sitting on pilelongs that are pencil thin and look like a breeze would dump it in the Potomac river. Most all are year rounders and pretty friendly except for the management and security, they are horrible, I would not recommend them since they are extremely unorganized and you will get a different and untruthful and deceptive answers each time you call.

Delaware Seashore is the best. You have to understand that its not a Resort & you have to walk or drive to the beach. There is no store on site & trees are not even an issue. So whats the draw? Its a place to camp while getting ready to see the races in Dover & its a place that has some of the best salt water fishing anywhere on the East Coast. You meet a diverse group of people & may even meet a person or persons who become best of friends. You put up with the noise of the bridge construction, the lack of shade, the puddles of water after a rain & the heat & humidity. You grab your fishing gear, head down to the jetty or rocks, cast your line & hope that a record Flounder, Striper, Trout or Blue likes what you have to offer.

Stayed here over Labor Day weekend. Beautiful view of Lake Erie. Huge clubhouse. Great value breakfasts and dinners available.
The only reason I did not give it 5 stars was that we stayed with family and paid a visitor fee, which was fine. I only suggest that they give a written receipt or a tag for your vehicle window that marks you have paid, as later someoen drove around to check and it led to some confusion.

This is a poorly managed campground. The bathhouse facilities are inadaqute for the amount of visitors. There are different rule for diferent people. The rotation on and off utilities depends on who you are. Several sites have people who are exempt from rotating and several who don't pay at at all. This place needs a complete change of personnel and a MWR director who cares about the visitors.

The cops on this base will harrass the visitors, when a person walks from the shower to their camp site without a shirt on and gets a cop to give a ticket for no shirt because he's too far from the beach is just absurd.

This place is a quiet slice of heaven. It is the side yard of a man's property, which is kept beautiful. Nice thick grass and pine needles. He has giant oaks in the yard with Spanish Moss.

Has full hookups, about 12 of them. It gets nice and dark here and very quiet at night. We slept wonderfully with just the screen door on the camper so we could hear the night sounds.

There are no facilities here other than the full hookups, but this place is great. We stayed here in a Minnie Winne Class C motorhome.
Disclaimer: This was written based on what we have witness and based on our bad experiences at Autumn Hills Campground from May 1,2008 to Oct 15,2010. We are sharing our experiences only. We hope that The campground will improved.

Autumn Hills Campground have been the worst camping experiences ever. Autumn Hills Campground has had issues before our arrival, one person who has a bad temper and is violent, goes after other campers in rages, tossing stuff and threatens them. went after the owner last year and his son, but still remains at AHC, same couple cause excessive noise after hours. Bathrooms are disgusting. showers don’t work. Owner have their clicks, they break the rule for some and not others. A 70yr seasonal camper was sleeping in his car in 90 degree weather and the owners didn’t care. One seasonal camper had left, but still left their electric on and also left some personal stuff on her site, the owners removed belongings never contact them technically they had the site till Oct 15. We would not want to bring our family back there. The play ground is a joke , This campground was a huge disappointment, dirty and run down; and some seasonal site are poorly maintained or look abandoned. In our area alone 11 seasonal have pulled out prior to the end of the season ending. The campground owner had moved some seasonal into those site in order for it not to look so empty. This Campground has destroyed families and ruined friendships

This campground is clean and in a good location. The people are friendly. I would recommend the stay. You are a little crowded in, but this is to be expected in an RV park.

We stayed at this campground late this summer. The campground was pretty but the ownership left a lot to be desired. We paid a month's rent and were told to park in the temporary lot until a full hookup space became available. The couple that moved in a few days after us were offered the first available full hookup spot without a word to us. The lady in the office refused to even talk to me about it and acted like I was unreasonable to even bring it up. So, after paying for a full month for full hookups at the end of four weeks I asked about refunding part of our money. The owner said "Its the same price for no hookups". I felt we were lied to and ripped off. Stay there, but don't believe a word out of that woman's mouth. Beware of when you park in the temporary parking, they kept putting people in the spot under the black walnut tree.
