About: This scenic site provides an opportunity to camp along the shores of Lake Superior - "By the shores of Gitche Gumme, by the Shining Big-Sea-Waters." Experience miles of sandy beach and beautiful sunsets across Lake Superior, the greatest single body of fresh water in the world. Listen carefully. You may hear the woeful cry of a loon early in the evening. Relax and enjoy the sights and sounds that early explorers once enjoyed.
