About: Rocky Rest Campground is located on a ridge above the North Yuba River along Hwy 49. The North Yuba Trailhead is near the campground. There is a scenic bridge across the Yuba River. Access to a rocky beach and swimming hole is nearby.

Directions: From Camptonville: Drive 10 miles northeast on Hwy 49. Campground is located on the North Yuba River.

Rocky Rest Campground

This campground is one of six in a short distance along HWY 49 and the Yuba River. It is near the highway so you do get some road noise, although there is very little traffic at night. This particular campground has a few sites with water views. There is a foot bridge that crosses the river here giving access to the Yuba Trail, a seven mile trail through very heavily forested areas. The spaces can be difficult to access so those with bigger rigs may prefer Cal-Ida or Indian Valley campgrounds. Although technically seasonal, this campground is not gated and ...
