About: Elevation 6040 feet. 8 boat-in only tent camping sites on the east shore of Kingfisher Island, a large island in the southwest arm of Flaming Gorge Reservoir. Gorgeous views. Fishing in Flaming Gorge Reservoir for mackinaw (lake trout), Utah chub, rainbow trout, channel catfish, and smallmouth bass. The Green River below the dam is one of the best trout streams in the country, and is also popular among rafters and kayakers. There are over 220 miles of trails in the NRA. Sheep Canyon Geological Area, just west of the NRA, features stunning scenic panoramas, framed by colorfully-striated cliffs. No water, higher fee at improved sites
