Little Lava Lake Campground is close by Lava Lake, but the lake is smaller and sometimes referred to as Deschutes Pond. A flow of lava lies along the west shore, dividing Lava Lake and Little Lava Lake. The lake is popular with fishermen and often the same campers come back year after year.
