Details
11.5 miles south and east of Moose, with 360 sites, 5 groups sites, and a trailer dump station. Generally fills in the evening, if at all. The campground lies along the Gros Ventre River with a mix of sites in sagebrush, beneath cottonwoods and adjacent to but a short distance from the river.

Gros Ventre camp ground
We have stayed here several times in late Sept,Oct. Have always enjoyed the color and the moose that hang around. Last visited Oct 2012 just before the Oct 5th closing date. There has been work on the camping loops in the past but all seem to be open now. This is a quiet place if you are in the tent/small rv loops west of the office.Other wise there are big motor homes in the loops to the east of the office.
