About: Named after the legendery Spanish explorer, Anza is located in the high desert, an hour and a half's drive northeast of San Diego or some two and a half hours' drive southeast of Los Angeles. The valley and the mountains around are home to several Native American reservations and include a number of state and national parks.
Directions: From jct Hwy 79 South and Hwy 371: Go 14 mi E on Hwy 371, then 1 mi S on Kirby Rd, then 1 mi E on Wellman Rd, then 1 1/2 mi S on Terwilliger Rd (follow signs). Entrance on left.
