In its early days, Laramie was such a rip-roaring railroad town that it made good sense to build the territorial prison here. Things have quieted down, as you’ll see when you check into this relaxed campground with mountain views just north of I-80. However, at the Wyoming Territorial Park, you can still peek into cells where desperadoes such as Butch Cassidy once did their time. Relax at the Laramie KOA recreation and TV hall. Visit the great gift and snack store. Groups enjoy the meeting facilities, event planning and discounts. Take a sunny afternoon to walk or ride your bike around the city on the peaceful Greenbelt. Stop for a little shopping and dining in historic downtown Laramie. The beautiful Medicine Bow National Forest is just 27 miles away.
