About: Lucerne Campground is located in a high desert landscape on the shores of Flaming Gorge Reservoir at an elevation of 6,100 feet. Typical weather ranges from warm days to cool nights. Fishing, boating, canoeing, waterskiing, and swimming are popular activities on the lake.

This large campground has 143 single-family sites, 4 double-family sites, and four large group sites that accommodate up to 80 people each. Single and double sites have picnic tables, fire rings, bbq grills, and most have shade cabanas. A few trees are scattered throughout the campground, but there is very little shade. Group sites have picnic tables, fire rings, grills, and covered dining areas. An additional 70 single sites are available on a first come, first served basis. Flush toilets, potable water, and showers are provided. A boat ramp, marina, fish cleaning station, and RV dump station are located onsite. Flaming Gorge Corporation operates this campground under a Special Use Permit from the US Forest Service. Lucerne Valley Marina is nearby, with boat rentals, gas, slips, licenses, tackle and groceries.

Flaming Gorge National Recreation Area is known not only for its beautiful red cliffs, but also for its world-class fishing. Lake, brown and rainbow trout fishing, boating, waterskiing, jet skiing, canoeing, kayaking, swimming and scuba diving are popular activities on the reservoir. River rafting on the Green River is spectacular, with red cliffs rising on both sides. Flaming Gorge Dam offers interesting guided tours of the working hydroelectric plant and the dam itself; the adjacent visitor center has area history exhibits.
