About: Located in north central Texas, Waxahachie Creek Park is located on the western shore of Bardwell Lake. The park is located near the mouth of Bardwell Lake’s main tributary, Waxahachie Creek. The word “Waxahachie” is believed to be the Tonkawa Native American word for Buffalo Creek.

Waxahachie Creek Park offers 65 campsites with water and 30 amp electric service, 7 non-electric campsites, 13 picnic sites, public restrooms and showers, 1 equestrian trail, 1 nature trail, 1 day camping pavilion (200 person capacity), and 2 four-lane boat ramps.

Directions: From Ennis, TX: On I-45, exit onto US 287 Bypass (exit #247). Travel 4.5 miles and exit at Bardwell Lake exit sign. Turn left onto Hwy 34 and travel 3 miles southwest to Bozek Road. Turn right at Bozek Road and travel 1.5 miles to Waxahachie Creek Park entrance complex.
