The 7900-foot elevation makes Big Trinity Lake Campground a true mountain campground and an alpine lake. It is located within the Boise National Forest in the Mountain Home Ranger District.
It has 17 campsites on Big Trinity Lake and is near a number of lovely smaller lakes in the Rainbow Basin. Fishing is good in the lakes for rainbow and cutthroat trout. There are numerous hiking trails into the surrounding area. Boating is allowed, there is also swimming, site-seeing, and bied watching. Big Trinity is no different than other high mountain lakes in that it has that deep blue color and and beautiful surrounding timber.
It is a fee campground, but prices are very reasonable at only $10 per night and there is potable water and vault restrooms.
Campground Reviews
High Alpine Environment
Wow! Granite and wildflowers are everywhere and the camping is right in the middle of it all. This is real alpine camping in a comfortable National Forest campground. A place to return year after year.
