Cape Henlopen’s beaches attract thousands of visitors who enjoy ocean swimming and sunbathing. Two designated swimming beaches provide lifeguard patrols between Memorial Day weekend and Labor Day (schedule may vary due to staff availability). Umbrellas can be rented during the summer. The northern swimming area also features a modern bath house with showers, changing rooms, and a food concession.

With so many activities available, visitors may choose to stay a few days at the family campground. Pine-covered dunes are the setting for over 156 sites, most with a water hookup. Camping is available from March 1 through November 30.

Youth Camping
Organized youth groups may camp in a designated primitive area, or arrange to stay in one of the dormitory buildings on the bay side. Learn more about Primitive Camping or download and print a Primitive Camping Application or a Youth Group Application (pdf requires Adobe Acrobat). For more information, call the Biden Center at (302) 644-5005.
