Stovepipe Wells is located approximately 24 miles northwest of Furnace Creek.
Essentially a large gravel parking lot with limited tent sites along one edge. Firepits are in the tent sites only.
There is a store, restaurant, lodging, and gas adjacent to the campground in Stovepipe Wells Village. As of Jan 2009, diesel was not available at this location (diesel is available at Furnace Creek).
Tip: Gas at furnace creek can be VERY expensive. Fill up at Stovepipe Wells and save over a dollar per gallon.

It does have a nice restroom
But other than that not much to recommend it. Avoid if at all possible.
Big gravel lot with a row of crowded tent spots on one side. The only fire pits are at the tent spots. I would consider this campground a fallback only if all the others at Death Valley are full.
