Popular coastal getaway.
Doran Beach is an easy getaway for people in the San Francisco Bay Area and the Sacramento Valley and it fills up quickly. So I recommend making reservations. Unlike the nearby state park, this campground is on the beach and costs less. The beach is large and shallow, making it a good place for kids and kite flying. It is usually windy here so try to get one of the spaces protected from the wind by low, bushy trees. Campsites 1 - 27 have old pit toilets near them. There are flush toilets and showers closer to the other sites.
