About: Brannan Island State Recreation Area is a maze of waterways through the Sacramento-San Joaquin Delta. This park northeast of San Francisco Bay, has countless islands and marshes with many wildlife habitats and many opportunities for recreation, including boating, windsurfing and swimming.

Better if you have a boat.
This was an okay campground. Not a lot of non-water activities. It was our first camping trip, invited by some friends. I tend to camp where I can keep our kids brains running. Museums, Ranger activities, etc. If you have a boat or want to go fishing it's great!
